Dan works in chemistry research at one of the most reputable universities in the UK, and cannot imagine himself in any different occupation. He enjoys being with his family members, one of which (his beagle Buddy) accompanies him during the day.

Long days

Organic chemistry is hard work and physically demanding on the body of a scientist. “Daily research work requires a lot of patience. You are sitting in a laboratory the whole day, and not moving enough. Luckily for me, my dog is allowed at my facility. Hence, during lunch breaks, I have the chance to walk together with Buddy across the university grounds and admire nature”.

Ready for today's challenges

Although already both aged, Dan and Buddy look forward to working together for the next years to come. Dan loves working with his students, and they also adore Buddy, who became a real staff member.
